On Thursday 29 June we will be running our second 2016 valuation seminar for employers with a section in the RPS. Employers should be receiving their full draft results packs in early June, so will need to start thinking about decisions which need to be made in light of the results.
At the seminar we will analyse the results of the valuation and discuss our views on the avenues open to employers to deal with the valuation outcome. We will consider what employers across the RPS have done historically to deal with deficits and increased contribution rates, including:
· Improving the covenant rating;
· Negotiating assumptions;
· Putting forward proposals on investment strategy;
· Changing benefits for future service;
· Introducing or changing an existing cap on Pensionable Pay increases; and
· Negotiating the recovery plan.
There will be opportunities for employers to discuss their views and share ideas throughout the seminar.
The seminar will be hosted by Richard Jones and Martin Hunter, both of whom have a wealth of RPS experience, having previously advised around 20 RPS employers through triennial valuation negotiations for the 2004, 2007, 2010 and 2013 valuations.
