Many in the pensions industry thought that the US$550 million claim by the Visteon UK Pension Plan and the Pension Protection Fund was setting the scene for the next financial support direction or contribution notice by the Pensions Regulator. Those who were getting excited about the prospect of witnessing the Pensions Regulator exercising its “moral hazard” powers for the second time were certainly disappointed upon learning that the claim was withdrawn.
