‘Pah’, I hear you say as you snort at the prospect of there ever being a surplus in your company pension scheme. Well yes, it might seem that ever having a pension scheme surplus is a very remote prospect at the moment, but that does not mean to say that it will not happen. In actual fact, one might argue that it is highly likely that the vast majority of pension schemes will return to surplus in the future given long enough.
